Ronald S. Ramo, Treasurer of the Libertarian Party of Queens County, had already declared his Political Views on Facebook as being "Anarchist" but in a Note posted to his Facebook Page on October 7, 2011, he explained his anarchist beliefs further by declaring:
I personally fancy myself an anarchist, but I believe anarchism does not mean the non-existence of any authority or hierarchy, but that no authority or hierarchy can govern an individual without their express consent.
When asked for a follow-up explanation of his position, Mr. Ramo sent me the following:
I don't believe there is a social contract because the contemporary political, economic and social institutions have come into existence through violence and fraud. But I believe developments in the last several years have created opportunities to create political, economic and social institutions based on express consent; the only question is whether we are prepared to exploit them.
In addition to serving as LPQC Treasurer, Ronald S. Ramo also serves as Vice-Chair of Long Island Libertarians, a chartered chapter of Empire State Libertarians.
