Empire State Libertarians Charters Susquehanna-Catskill Libertarians

On July 25, 2010, the Governing Board of Empire State Libertarians chartered Susquehanna-Catskill Libertarians, a local chapter that will be active in Broome, Chenango, Otsego, Delaware & Sullivan counties. Jack Roque, Treasurer of the Campaign Committee formed to elect Alden Link Lt. Governor of New York State, was appointed Chair of Susquehanna-Catskill Libertarians. Mr. Roque recently attended the Libertarian Party's National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri over Memorial Day weekend. He lives in Chenango County.

Dr. Tom Stevens founded Empire State Libertarians on July 4, 2010. It has the following purposes:

1. to encourage New York State residents who share libertarian ideals and principles to become politically active and to seek out avenues to promote a pro-liberty agenda;

2. to endorse candidates seeking elective office who support smaller government, lower taxes and more individual freedom;

3. to encourage patriotism, respect for our Founder Fathers, and a deep appreciation for the United States Constitution; and

4. to organize and charter chapters of Empire State Libertarians in order to promote local activism.

Susquehanna-Catskill Libertarians will be seeking to identify candidates in its area of geographic responsibility who would like to receive the endorsement of Empire State Libertarians and who are in complete agreement with the following Candidate Endorsement Statement for Election Year 2010:

If elected, I will take action to bring about smaller, more efficient, government as well as fewer and lower taxes. I intend to work to stimulate the economy and to create jobs by reducing corporate taxation and bureaucratic regulation. I do not believe it is the government's role to bring about social change. to redistribute wealth, or to pass laws criminalizing conduct that causes no direct harm to others. I will do what I can to bolster the value of our currency, to reduce the national debt, to better defend our borders, to keep our military strong, and to protect those individual rights guaranteed to all Americans in the United States Constitution.
